Its always great to receive feedback on your work.  It happens quite often that we see clients and then they go away and we don’t hear from them for ages.  The human mind is a strange thing.. often thinking.. “oh well perhaps we didn’t help that person and they were not satisfied so they never came back.” Imagine the surprise when you hear either indirectly or some two years later when the person arrives back on your doorstep and says.. ‘last time I came to consult you .. you fixed my problem and I have been well ever since until now.. when….

It happens so often!

But this week I had great feedback very quickly after the consultation.. and it was so nice to have that acknowledgement…

I just wanted to let you know that B…’s legs are all better. She still has some purple marks/scars on her legs which I hope will go away in time. We’ll still keep up the Formula Safety mix, vitamin C, etc for a while yet though.

Have been really busy this week so have not had time to feed back from the session on Monday. So here goes now!

The shoulder feels great- no pain and I can exercise with ease. Yoga was good on Wednesday evening with no trouble with the seizing of the back muscles. The next day I was sore after yoga, but in the hamstrings, not on the shoulder or back, lol.

Each day my ability to breathe and do the normal things I do without getting breathless is increasing ; yet to see what I am like on a windy day.   JC

Nestle Scores Heart Ticks on Their Breakfast Cereal

What a relief -  we can rest easy that the cereal we are eating for breakfast is healthy!

Or can we really trust this big red tick that implies that the food we are eating is healthy for us?  I don’t think so. The heart tick has nothing to do with the sugar content in food.

I am not sure how they can justify that the only thing that helps our heart to be healthy is low fat and high fibre and totally ignore the fact that cereals such as the Nestle Milo Cereal have 34.1 grams of sugar per 100 gms cereal!

What?

More than a third of the Nestle product is sugar.

Sugar is known to be a cause of diabetes.  High sugar intake increases insulin resistance in the body.  Insulin resistance  is a known cause of inflammation in the body.  Inflammation is a known underlying cause of cardiovascular disease.  How can anyone justify that much sugar in a product which now has a tick of heart safety approval?

Is there something wrong in this picture?

Nestle Cereal looks like food but is it really?

Nilani Sritharan is the nutrition manager with Cereal Partners Australia, which produces both Nestle and Uncle Toby’s told ABC News that their products were a ‘healthier choice for breakfast”.

I wonder what she was comparing them to?  Bacon and eggs fried – with fried bread on the side.

Yes perhaps heathier than that.. but certainly not healthier than a good quality yogurt with fresh fruit, or perhaps a freshly made vegetable and fruit juice, or even a fruit salad.

Please really examine labels before you buy this rubbish.  Check out the percentage of sugars, sodium, and other additives.. look at the degree of processing this product – which at sometime in its life used to be a grain.. has been through to make it shredded – fluffed, puffed, shaped, sugared preened and prodded to become the fancy little cereal lump in your bowl of milk in the morning.

There are many more healthy choices for your breakfast - that important meal where you break the fast of the night.  Give your body a  chance to start the day with some high quality nutrition.  Your energy levels will thank you for the whole day through.

The heart ticks on the Nestle products are no indication of a healthy meal.

Juice Fast Day Five

Day Five of My New Year Juice Fast

Today’s report on the juice fast is here.  Poor sleep in the beginning of the night due to the continuing leg pain when I lay down but I finally managed to get into a position that was comfortable and slept.  Wow what dreams.. I was busy with vivid dreams all night it seemed – although as usual for me .. no memory of them this morning! And also very little of yesterday’s leg pain .. good.

But this juice fast is doing strange things to my brain!

I am very ‘spaced out’ – forgetting what I am doing, walking to one part of the hosue and not remembering why I went there! So perhaps a juice fast of this nature is not necessarily recommended while you juice fast day five 300x225 Juice Fast Day Fiveare working in an intense job where you need to be really on the ball.

Anyway as a treat this morning I made myself a special cocktail.  Grapefruit juice – a mix of very tart yellow grapefruit and a pink one.. plus some lemon, and half a granny smith.  Here it is..

As I tasted it I was ready for real sour tartness.. but no it was extra yummy – and unbelievably sweet for the contents.

Or was that just the change I have in my taste buds due to the juice fast?

It was a delicious start to the day.

Sadly I forgot to put the added zing of the ginger into my juice and already dismantled the Compact Juicer before I realised.

Just the same its a good batch and I am contining to drink it out of the special glass to make the last day of the juice fast just that bit more special.

So what is the final conclusion on this five days?  Go for it. Even if you have no idea what the results may be I highly recommend a juice fast and you are certain to be pleased with the results.

fresh juice Juice Fast Day TwoSo far so good!  Slept well through the night and woke this morning with no headache. When you juice fast the body starts to detox – and headaches, and other symptoms of letting go of the old rubbish are very common to experience.

The juice fast will trigger the detoxification.

You can think of it in this way – the body has a certain amount of energy to deal with the day to day tasks of repair, regeneration, digestion, elimination, and when we are living our normal life, especially during holiday periods, we may be eating in excess, especially rich foods that we don’t normally eat, as well as drinking more alcohol, and in may case I was eating much more sugar than usual. Courses in Kinesiology

Courses in Kinesiology with Sahaja Springer

I took my first courses in kinesiology with a man called David Bridgman in Sydney 18 years ago while we were running the Sydney Transformation Centre – they really changed things around in my life and gave me a whole new direction that has stood me in good stead ever since.  In fact both Sahaja and I were so enthusiastic about all we learned first from David and then later from many others including Dr Bruce Dewe, that we have never looked back since and both use the skills we learnt in our daily work, albeit given our own very personal flavour.

Sahaja has been teaching courses in kinesiology – specifically Touch for Health – for more than ten years.

Just as happened for us, a few weekends with her during these interesting trainings can give you skills that you will use for your lifetime.

Its not that easy to explain what kinesiology really is.. mainly because it is such a huge umbrella which encompasses many diverse areas – and pulls in a wide range of aspects to health and healing.  Yes certainly the skill of muscle testing or muscle monitoring as it is also known, which is taught during the courses in kinesiology is quite standardised, but this method of assessment if you like can be applied in so many different ways.

Both Sahaja and I in our kinesiology consultations use the skill with a flavour which is very distinctly our own.  Sahaja has a profound depth of intuition which colours her consults in a way which can only be experienced.

I also know that having done courses in kinesiology as well as practiced for many years, that my own intuition has been honed and developed as well.  It’s very satisfying when I allow that sense of being assisted in my consults to really take over and let the flow of the consult work by itself.

One of the things that David taught us both which has stood us in very good stead was never to evaluate the other person.  This has been a principle that we have both employed in all our work and our lives.

Evaluation of the other does not allow that person to reach to their own conclusions and can often give them a sense of being ‘put down’ or made less of.

These added extras – the subtleties of being a good practitioner who gets results consistently and has a steady stream of clients waiting to see them – are the vital aspects that Sahaja brings to her teaching.

So if you are thinking about doing Touch for Health with Sahaja this year, you will find that during these courses in kinesiology that you will be offered great wisdom and a depth of knowledge that goes far beyond the syllabus of the course.

Juice Fast Day One

Day One of My New Year Juice Fast

I have been saying it for weeks now – building up to it.. “from New Year’s Day I start a five day juice fast!”

I figured that if I said it often enough to myself and to others that I would absolutely have to do it.  I am not one to say something and then not carry it out. So here I am almost midday on New Years Day – and my body is already telling me that something is different.

A juice fast can very quickly demonstrate to you how much you have been overdoing it – remove the coffee and any other heavy foods and your liver is immediately happy and starts to dump the toxic buildup.

Courage! Is It Your Friend?

Courage is the ability to take action in spite of fear.

The origin of the  word courage comes from the Latin cor meaning ‘heart.’ It is a quality, a core strength that whensylvia Courage! Is It Your Friend? faced by fear you are given you the determination to take action.

As you increasingly learn to act in spite of fear, the more human you become. The more you follow and act out of  fear, the more you live like a lower mammal. The question, “Are you a man or a mouse?” is consistent with human neurology.

Recently in in our Good Medicine notes we asked the question; do you live in a world where trusting another human is difficult? … and today I am asking you….do you trust yourself?

Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear.  Ambrose Redmoon

Courageous people still feel fear, but they don’t let the fear paralyse them. The key is understanding that people who lack courage, give into fear more often than not, which actually has a long-term energy of strengthening the fear.

When you avoid facing a fear and then feel relief that you escaped from it, this is acting like a psychological reward that reinforces your mouse-like ‘avoidance behaviour’, and has the effect of making you even more likely to avoid facing the fear in the future. This behaviour conditions the self to become more timid and also you begin to criticize people who have a healthy self image.

These emotions of jealously, foolish pleasure …  reinforce avoidance behaviour.

Eventually people cocoon themselves into a life that insulates them.

Insulated in a stable but unhappy marriage, insulated in a job or income that keeps them comfortable but they hate.  Their self talk is centred around their own words of justification,  “I’m not trained for anything else, too old to change career, he/she is a good person and even though I’m unfulfilled in the relationship I can’t complain” … But you do!

There’s something else going on behind the scenes, isn’t there?

That voice in the back of your mind recalls that this isn’t the kind of life you wanted to live.

It wants more, much more.

That voice is asking you to have the courage to experience a meaningful relationship, to have companionship with truth and love, to learn new skills, to travel the to interesting places, to have friends you can trust, to assist people in need, and to make a meaningful difference.

The underpinning and foundation for self mastery in to learn how to heal your fear! Surrender to love. Love is the essence of life and living, the antithesis of love is fear. Have courage my friend.

Anti-inflammatories – the risks!

NSAIDS – non steroidal anti-inflammatories are not nice drugs and should be viewed with distrust!  A recent study in Denmark which involved 450,000 healthy people produced some very disturbing results.
